Harvest fresh rose blossoms for this gorgeous summer beverage!
Garden roses are one of my favorite scents in the garden! Capture their magic in this refreshing summer lemonade. Be sure to gather fresh rose petal from a trusted source! Roses sold at garden centers might have something sprayed on them, so only gather from home-grown or wild sources that you know are safe. Wild roses are a great alternative to use in this lemonade!
Your List of Ingredients
1 1/2 cups of fresh rose petals
6 cups of water
2 1/2 cups of sugar
Juice from 2 lemon
Step 1: Gather your rose petals
You will not be rinsing these before using them so be sure that ones you haves are free from any bugs or dirt. Place petals in a large glass jar.
Step 2: Make your syrup
Bring water to a boil, add sugar and stir until dissolved. Remove saucepan from heat and add the lemon juice. Pour syrup over the rose petals.
Step 3: Let steep
Let your rose lemonade infuse in the fridge for the next 2 or 3 days
Step 4: Strain and serve over ice
Enjoy this delicious floral drink on a hot summer's day!
I have read a lot about hibiscus flavored drinks and even heard of rose teas, but never lemonade. Was it very florally? Would elderberries be could in lemonade?
